UMass Lowell Rowdy’s Esports Arena

For UMass Lowell’s new Rowdy’s Esports Arena, Continental Woodcraft was brought in to help translate an energetic, technology-driven environment with a strong visual presence into a finished space through high quality millwork elements.

Working alongside Vantage Builders and JCJ Architecture, Continental provided custom architectural millwork for the 2,500-square-foot arena, including a reception desk and custom banquette seating. The facility was designed to support competitive gaming, casual play, broadcasting, team collaboration and student community, with technology and university branding integrated throughout the space.

The reception desk presented a particularly complex fabrication and installation challenge. Its factory high-gloss painted wood façade features a series of precise faceted angles, all installed on a sloped ramp floor. The slope compounded the geometry, requiring careful coordination and precision throughout fabrication and installation.

A custom UMass blue acrylic transaction top completed the desk, reinforcing the university’s branding while adding a durable, polished finish.

The result is a reception feature that feels right at home in a space built around competition, technology and school spirit—while demonstrating the level of precision and craftsmanship that complex architectural millwork demands.
