NYU Langone Student Center

Students at NYU are greeted by one of the longest reception desks Continental Woodcraft has ever built. At over 100 feet long and created from solid oak on the front and 1.5-inch thick solid oak on the countertops, this was a complex job. The wood needed to line up perfectly at different faceted angles. To do so, each face was tipped at a different angle to get the placement just right. Another unique area of this project was the main feature wall in the lobby. The boards behind the NYU logo were reclaimed 60-foot-long beams from the 1800s that were repurposed and re-sawn from a demolition of another section of the building.
